What I am playing/listening to/watching/reading/looking forward to for April 2016.

March was pretty cool for me, I played a ton of Ubisoft’s The Division, got a new CPU (an Intel i7-4790k), an All In One Liquid Cooler (NZXT Kraken X61), and a new case (Fractal Design Define r5). Listened to some pretty good audiobooks: Neal Asher’s Owner Trilogy (was pretty good), and re-listened to Joe Abercrombie’s First Law Trilogy so I could get into the re-release of Best Served Cold and The Heroes which are narrated by Steven Pacey. I also picked up The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 and it was also pretty good and a decent adaptation of the books.

For April and the next few months, I will be playing The Division. It’s a pretty good game but has its flaws, very similar to the problems Diablo 3 had initially. The biggest problem being the limited high-end loot and the very small endgame. However, the game is extremely fun and engaging. It’s also even better playing with 3 other friends.

I still have an insane backlog of games that I do plan to get around to, probably in the summer when gaming is usually at the most boring and there being very few big releases.

My plans to pick up Overwatch are still tentatively on, although that may change with how much time I spend playing The Division. On a similar note, I have not picked up the Nova DLC for Starcraft 2 and I intend to probably pick it up later in the year.

For Audiobooks this month, my time will be well spent listening to the Steven Pacey narrated version of The Heroes, and Zero World by Jason M. Hough. I picked up Zero World based solely on Felicia Day’s goodreads review. I picked up Asher’s Owner Trilogy based on her review and recommendation as well, it was a pretty good trilogy and I liked the story a lot, so I definitely had no reservations in picking up Zero World. I also have 2 Witcher books to listen too, The Sword of Destiny and The Last Wish. I also have 1 audible credit left that I have not spent yet. I’m not sure what to pick up yet but at the moment I’m stuck between 2 books so far, The Last Werewolf and Gone Girl. Although I may just hold out and use it for Joe Abercrombie’s Sharp Ends. I am also very tempted to buy 3 more audible credits to pick up either Scott Lynch’s Gentleman Bastard Sequence or Robin Hobb’s Farseer Trilogy. Very fucking tempted.

Movies this month are way more eventful than that last couple of months, I picked up The Hateful Eight on blu ray along with Casino Royale, preordered the new Star Wars and picked up Kingdom of Heaven Ultimate Edition. I also have Cloverfield to watch, I picked it up along with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2. If you are wondering why I’ve picked up another seemingly random older movie with a newer release, it’s to get over the 25$ free shipping threshold Amazon.ca has. I also checked out Terminator Genisys on Netflix and thought it wasn’t too shitty, my only gripe that it was pg-13 rated when most of the others were R rated. I’m also planning to watch Season 2 of Daredevil this month and am extremely looking forward to that. I also plan to pick up the Revenant which also released this month. Also, Game of Thrones starts up again this month and I plan to not miss a single second of.

I also have a couple of the Fables graphic novels to read this month and get back on track to read and go through. I’m on books 10 and 11, The Good Prince and War and Pieces.

What I’m looking forward to this month is Joe Abercrombie’s Sharp Ends and Joe Hill’s The Fireman. I plan to pick up both from audible when they are available.
